Credentialed Veterinary Technician – Hometown Veterinary Partners

Join Hometown Veterinary Partners, founded in 2023, to provide exceptional client care in brand‑new veterinary hospitals. The role is available for full‑time and part‑time positions, with 8‑ or 10‑hour shifts, including day, evening, holiday, and Saturday hours (Sunday closed).

Overview

As a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) you will be a respected member of the hospital team, reporting directly to the Hospital Director or Partner Doctor. You will support the core values of culture, collaboration, and community by delivering approachable, accessible, and individualized client care.

Responsibilities

    • Support training and onboarding of new team members.
    • Provide ongoing input that supports efficiency, productivity, and well‑being.

    • Deliver a positive and exceptional client experience and patient care.
  • Community
    • Welcome clients and their pets to the hospital in a friendly manner.
    • Assist clients with check‑in/out and schedule follow‑up appointments.
    • Gather basic vital signs, weight, and history on patients.
    • Properly restrain pets during examinations and procedures.
    • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the DVM.
    • Observe animal behavior and health conditions and report to the DVM.
    • Assist in emergency cases.
    • Keep accurate records and logs in patients’ medical notes.
    • Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare.
    • Educate owners on medications, husbandry, and recommended practices.
    • Perform basic laboratory testing and radiography.
    • Perform dental prophylactic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Safely monitor and document anesthetic procedures.
    • Lead as a provider of veterinary technician appointments based on state practice act.
  • Collaboration
    • Provide input, ideas, and suggestions for continual improvement.
    • Participate in quality, safety, and health initiatives.
    • Triage emergency cases and keep clients and pets calm.
    • Review records to ensure immunizations, diagnostics, and prevention are up to date.
    • Document all observations, testing, and treatments in Medical Notes.
    • Clean kennels, examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and pack wrapping.
Requirements

Experience, Education and Training
  • Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) required.
  • Graduation from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of veterinary or technician experience required.
