Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products that they have ordered.Recommend grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions about products.Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, notifying store management.Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate personnel of repairs needed.Notify management of customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.Support and assist through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
