Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving for at least five items per bag without damage.
  • Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
  • Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of shopping carts for checkout.
  • Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
  • Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
  • Return merchandise to store shelves and gather/return shopping carts.
  • Clean spills, collect trash inside store and parking lot, and clean all areas inside and outside the store.
  • Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
  • Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks.
  • Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspect equipment and notify maintenance of repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment, answer questions about products, and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts appropriately and acting with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer Service skills
  • Effective communication skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Retail experience preferred but not necessary
