SummaryThe Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest’s needs by suggesting additional items.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and share it with the team.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies.
- Achieve personal sales/per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Management.
- Help guests try on or fit merchandise.
- Check out and bag purchases.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
- Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
- Maintain and build good guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present.
- Operate cash registers, count money, balance drawers, and make deposits.
- Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and daily bag/purse checks.
- Understand and execute all policies regarding payments, exchanges, and Loss Prevention.
- Perform merchandising tasks such as handling freight, re‑merchandising, and completing price markdowns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store.
- Identify recruiting opportunities and utilize available resources.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to create a positive floor culture.
- Present merchandise in a manner that maximizes sales and achieves optimal turnover.
- Stay current on product range and collaborate on new product ideas.
- Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized with appropriate display.
- Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Use magnetic card readers and handle cash and charge slips.
- Recognize security risks and prevent or handle thefts.
- Follow POS procedures and maintain knowledge of payment policies.
- Provide feedback to management on merchandise handling concerns.
- Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
No prior experience or training required.
