We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Permanent School Social Worker to join our healthcare team in an Intermediate School. This role is perfect for a professional who is committed to promoting the welfare of students, helping them overcome social, behavioral, and emotional challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, school staff, and the community to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.

- Evaluate students’ psychological and social well‑being by conducting comprehensive assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students’ social and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to understand and address the challenges faced by students.
- Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students dealing with issues such as bullying, trauma, and mental health disorders.
- Coordinate with community resources and external agencies to provide additional support services to students and their families.
- Participate in multi‑disciplinary team meetings to discuss students’ progress and challenges.
- Advocate for students’ rights and needs within the school and community.
- Develop and conduct training programs for school staff and parents on topics such as child development, mental health, and crisis intervention.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of students’ progress, services provided, and any other relevant information.
- A minimum of 0 years of experience as a School Social Worker.
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (IL PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement.
- A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and dealing with a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Strong knowledge of child development, psychology, and counseling techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school staff, and community resources.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential student records.
- Commitment to advocating for students’ rights and needs and promoting an inclusive school environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and compassion.
