Role Summary

A Finance & Accounting role focused on commercial real estate and property accounting, involving financial reporting, accounting operations, fund and joint venture accounting, and support for audits and compliance activities within real estate investment structures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Manage end-to-end accounting operations including month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports in compliance with GAAP standards
- Support preparation of financial statements and related schedules

2. Real Estate & Investment Accounting

- Handle accounting for commercial real estate assets, funds, and joint ventures
- Perform fair value accounting and support valuation adjustments
- Assist in tax accounting processes and reporting (IFRS exposure preferred)

3. Tenant & Property Accounting

- Manage tenant recoveries and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) accounting
- Analyze property-level financials and ensure accurate cost allocations
- Support operational accounting for real estate portfolios

4. Waterfall & Distribution Calculations

- Assist in waterfall calculations for real estate investment structures
- Support investor reporting and distribution tracking

5. Audit & Compliance Support

- Support year-end audits and resolve audit queries
- Assist in financial statement preparation and footnote disclosures
- Manage loan compliance activities including:
- Loan draw and escrow draw packages
- Covenant calculations and monitoring

6. Financial Analysis & Reporting

- Use advanced Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Perform variance analysis and ensure accuracy of financial data

Required Skills & Experience

- 3–5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting
- Exposure to commercial real estate, property accounting, or real estate funds preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial reporting
- Experience in fair value accounting and tax accounting (IFRS exposure is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with CAM and tenant recoveries
- Understanding of loan compliance and covenant calculations
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills

- Experience in real estate accounting teams or property accounting firms
- Exposure to real estate investment or fund accounting environments
- Experience working with US-based real estate clients or reporting structures
