We are looking to engage a map designer to develop orientation and way finding maps as part of an integrated signage and way finding system.
The role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in branding and experience design while working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The role will involve two key phases:
1. Design Intent & Information Design
The designer will first develop the design intent for maps, establishing all aspects of information design. This includes information hierarchy, scale, orientation logic, zoning and colour application, typography, iconography, labelling rules, accessibility considerations (Braille Integration), and overall content structure. The intent phase should result in a fully defined and consistent map design system aligned with the broader sign family.

2. Artworking & Final Deliverables
Post approval of the design intent, the designer will prepare final, production-ready artworks for all specified map types and quantities, ensuring consistency across locations and formats.
All map designs must align visually and functionally with the approved signage family, way finding strategy, and user journeys. The role requires strong expertise in information design and way finding, beyond purely illustrative or cartographic skills.

Qualifications
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and tools for vector graphic creation and editing
Strong skills in visual composition, creative thinking, and attention to detail
Understanding of branding principles and design systems
Ability to conduct research for design inspiration with a focus on user-centered design
Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team
Enthusiasm for problem-solving and innovative design processes
Bachelor's degree or ongoing studies in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
Prior experience or interest in map artwork creation is a plus
