The Role:

Teaching & Learning
Deliver outstanding and engaging Visual Arts lessons that inspire creativity, curiosity, and artistic excellence.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum and the school's academic expectations.
Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of all students.
Develop students' practical, technical, creative, and critical thinking skills through inquiry-based learning.
Teach across a broad range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, textiles, photography, graphic design, illustration, digital art, and three-dimensional design, as appropriate to the curriculum.
Encourage experimentation, innovation, creative problem-solving, and independent artistic practice.
Foster students' understanding of art history, visual culture, and contemporary artistic practice.
Integrate digital technologies and emerging creative tools to enhance learning and artistic expression.

Curriculum Planning & Assessment
Plan and deliver a progressive Visual Arts curriculum that develops creativity, technical proficiency, and artistic understanding.
Design meaningful learning experiences that encourage investigation, experimentation, reflection, and refinement.
Monitor, assess, and record student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.
Provide constructive, personalised, and timely feedback to support student growth.
Prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS & A Level Visual Arts (where applicable).
Support portfolio development, coursework moderation, exhibition preparation, and internal standardisation in accordance with Cambridge assessment requirements.
Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to academic reporting.

Student Development & Pastoral Care
Build positive, respectful, and supportive relationships with students.
Promote students' confidence, resilience, independence, and creative expression.
Encourage reflective practice, artistic risk-taking, and intellectual curiosity.
Support students' personal, emotional, and social development through outstanding pastoral care.
Identify and nurture gifted and talented artists while providing appropriate support to students requiring additional assistance.
Encourage participation in exhibitions, competitions, collaborative projects, and community initiatives.
Maintain high standards of behaviour, respect, and professionalism within the classroom.

Creative Arts & Co-Curricular Contribution
Lead or contribute to art clubs, enrichment programmes, workshops, exhibitions, and creative events.
Curate high-quality displays and exhibitions that celebrate student achievement across the school.
Prepare students for local, national, and international art competitions and exhibitions.
Support whole-school productions through set design, props, stage artwork, installations, costumes, or other creative contributions where appropriate.
