Qualifications & Skills:

Candidates should have a Post-Graduation/Graduation degree in Psychology /Clinical Psychology. Min 3+ Years of experience as a School Counsellor.
In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of curriculum areas, research, and educational trends in Education. State certification or licensure as a school counsellor.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with students.
Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health issues, and academic counselling.

Key Responsibilities:

Individual Counselling:
Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to students facing academic, personal, social, or emotional challenges.
Help students develop coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence.
Group Counselling:
Conduct group counselling sessions to address common issues such as peer relationships, bullying, study skills, and career exploration.
Create a safe and supportive space for students to share and learn from their peers.
Academic Advising:
Assist students in setting academic goals, selecting appropriate courses, and developing study skills.
Monitor academic progress and provide intervention when necessary.
Consultation:
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to address students' specific needs.
Provide recommendations and strategies for classroom interventions and support plans.
School-wide Programs:
Develop and implement programs that promote a positive school culture, such as anti-bullying initiatives, character education, and mental health awareness campaigns.
Conduct workshops and presentations for students and staff on relevant topics.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain confidential and accurate records of counselling sessions and interventions.
Prepare reports on student progress and outcomes as needed.
Professional Development:
Stay current with best practices in school counselling through ongoing training and professional development.
Adhere to the ethical standards set forth by professional counselling organisations.
