We are looking for an IT Senior Engineer responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day IT operations of an engineering office in India, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of local IT systems and services.
Working under the direction of the Corporate IT Manager based in Europe, the role focuses on the implementation of corporate IT policies, user support, infrastructure maintenance, software administration, and coordination with external service providers.
The position serves as the primary IT contact for the India office and acts as a liaison between local business users and the corporate IT function.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & User Support
- Provide first and second-level IT support to office personnel.
- Ensure effective operation of desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and collaboration tools.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and onboarding/offboarding activities in accordance with corporate policies.
- Coordinate and monitor helpdesk requests and issue resolution.
- Deliver basic user training on corporate IT systems and tools.
Infrastructure Administration
- Maintain local network infrastructure, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi systems, and office IT equipment.
- Monitor the performance and availability of local IT services.
- Coordinate hardware installations, replacements, and upgrades.
- Support implementation of infrastructure projects led by Corporate IT.
- Ensure backup procedures are executed according to company standards.
Engineering Applications Support
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of engineering software and licenses.
- Coordinate with software vendors and Corporate IT regarding technical issues.
- Assist engineering teams with software access and technical troubleshooting.
- Maintain records of software assets and licenses.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures at the local office level.
- Ensure compliance with IT security requirements established by Corporate IT.
- Support vulnerability assessments, audits, and security awareness initiatives.
- Report security incidents and coordinate corrective actions with Corporate IT.
Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate local IT suppliers, telecommunications providers, and service contractors.
- Support procurement activities for IT equipment and software.
- Monitor vendor service delivery and escalate issues when necessary.
Corporate IT Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between the India office and the Corporate IT Manager.
- Support corporate IT systems, upgrades, and technology initiatives.
- Provide regular reports on IT performance, incidents, and local requirements.
- Participate in global IT projects and standardization efforts.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5–8 years of IT experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or coordination role.
- Experience supporting engineering, EPC, manufacturing, or project-based organizations is preferred.
- Experience working within a multinational environment is desirable.
