Clairvolex is an AI-native intellectual property company. We partner with the in-house IP teams of large US and European corporations to develop and manage their patent and trademark portfolios, and support global law firms in drafting and prosecution.

Our proprietary AI platform, Clair, handles high-volume work such as retrieval, extraction, and first-pass drafting. Patent attorneys, patent agents, and senior paralegals review and approve all deliverables, and work with our product and engineering teams to shape how the AI tool’s function.

Role Overview
The AVP, Business Operations, IPMS runs day-to-day delivery operations for AI-accelerated IP work and manages multiple client accounts of IP experts. The role covers paralegal and docketing delivery across a large number of concurrent patent and trademark client accounts in the US and EMEA region, working closely with the VP, IPMS.

IPMS delivery runs on three Clair products:
Clair Docket Assist, Clair IDS, and Clair TM. At the core of the delivery model is the expert-in-the-loop (EIL) review gate: where that gate sits — what it stops, who staffs it, where sign-off rests — drives quality, client governance, and margin together. The AVP administers that boundary under the direction of the VP, IPMS, adjusting workflows and staffing as Clair's capability grows, and keeps service delivery within the cost and margin parameters set by the Business Head.

The role begins with the organization's key accounts in the first six months — implementing the operating model, governance cadence, and team structure — and then extends to the remaining IPMS accounts and the full delivery team over the following six months.

Business Performance
Support P&L performance for assigned accounts, in partnership with the IPMS business & SME leadership, through performance management that drives revenue and profitability.
Translate business priorities into an operations plan, anchored to the annual plan.
Provide operational input into contract and pricing discussions led by the leadership team.
Deliver monthly and quarterly business operations analytics, MIS and report-outs in a timely manner, and support the unit's operational initiatives based on business insights.

Service Delivery and Clair Deployment
Manage the delivery model: the review triggers and exception rules that define what the expert-in-the-loop (EIL) gate stops, how that gate is staffed, and where sign-off sits.
Recalibrate that boundary as Clair's capability grows, under the direction of the IPMS leadership, adjusting workflows and capacity accordingly.
Manage the expert-driven service lines Clair does not yet cover, such as proofreading, illustrations, and specialist paralegal work, holding quality standards, capacity, and turnaround with the SME leads.
Assist the VP across client solutioning and Clair deployment: client visits, walkthroughs and demos, onboarding readiness, and delivery to committed gated timelines through go-live, with the BPM team and IP domain managers.
Hold the governance controls contracted to clients across service lines: full traceability of every deliverable from source input through review to sign-off, attributed and logged, with only verified and auditable output released to the client.
Run the governance cadence for assigned accounts: status reviews, escalation protocols, and efficiency reporting.
