Lil Tomatoes is a leading kidswear brand with over 25 years of legacy in the Indian apparel industry. We are rapidly expanding our product portfolio and sourcing operations and are looking for an experienced Sourcing Head to strengthen our manufacturing network and ensure timely execution of orders.
Role Overview
The Sourcing Head will be responsible for developing and managing the sourcing network for woven and knit kidswear garments. The role requires identifying and onboarding new manufacturing partners, negotiating costings, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring on-time delivery of production orders.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience sourcing both woven and knitwear products for a kidswear brand and possess strong factory relationships, particularly in Tirupur and/or Delhi NCR.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Development & Factory Onboarding
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new factories for kidswear production across woven and knit categories.
Build a strong sourcing network in Tirupur, Delhi NCR, and other relevant garment clusters.
Assess factories for quality standards, production capacity, compliance, and scalability.
Develop long-term strategic relationships with manufacturing partners.
Costing & Commercial Negotiations
Obtain and evaluate costings from existing and new factories for all new styles.
Negotiate competitive prices while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Analyze garment construction, fabric consumption, trims, and manufacturing costs to achieve target margins.
Finalize production costings and support order closures.
Production Follow-up & Execution
Coordinate with factories from order placement through shipment.
Monitor production timelines and proactively address delays or bottlenecks.
Conduct regular follow-ups with vendors to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
Collaborate with internal merchandising, design, and planning teams for smooth execution.
Vendor Performance Management
Track factory performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
Resolve production and sourcing challenges efficiently.
Continuously identify opportunities for improving sourcing efficiency and reducing lead times.
Desired Candidate Profile
5–10 years of experience in apparel sourcing, vendor management, or merchandising.
Prior experience working with a kidswear brand is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of both woven and knit garment manufacturing processes.
Existing factory network in Tirupur and/or Delhi NCR will be a significant advantage.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple vendors and production timelines simultaneously.
Comfortable with regular factory visits and travel.
Preferred Background
Experience sourcing for brands selling through marketplaces, retail, or D2C channels.
Strong knowledge of kidswear garment construction, fabrics, trims, and production processes.
Proven track record of onboarding factories and scaling sourcing operations.
