Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Lead and manage all manufacturing operations across 3 cable production units.
Develop and implement strategies to meet production, quality, safety, and delivery targets.
Drive alignment of manufacturing goals with business objectives and customer requirements.
Production & Process Management
Oversee the entire cable manufacturing lifecycle: copper drawing, stranding, extrusion, insulation, sheathing, coiling, and final testing.
Ensure optimal resource utilization to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Monitor and manage KPIs such as OEE, downtime, scrap rate, and productivity.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
Enforce adherence to BIS, ISO 9001, and relevant electrical safety and quality standards for low voltage cables.
Work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure first-pass yield, reduce rejections, and maintain traceability.
Champion a strong safety culture across all plants with zero-tolerance for non-compliance.
Team & People Management
Manage and mentor plant managers, production engineers, supervisors, and shift teams.
Drive accountability, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Plan manpower allocation based on load forecasting and operational requirements.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimization
Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S principles to streamline operations.
Identify areas for cost savings across raw materials, energy usage, and labor without compromising quality.
Coordinate with maintenance to reduce machine downtime and extend asset life.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with SCM, Quality, Sales, and Finance for production planning, inventory control, and delivery schedules.
Provide regular MIS reports to senior management covering plant performance, cost efficiency, and risk areas.
Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; MBA is a plus.
Minimum 15 years of experience in cable manufacturing , with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-plant operations.
Deep understanding of low voltage cable production processes and machinery.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and production monitoring tools.
