Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Executive to manage day-to-day international logistics operations for import and export shipments during the US shift. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in ocean freight operations, shipment booking, container management, international trade documentation, and vendor coordination. The candidate should be capable of independently coordinating shipments from origin to destination while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate end-to-end logistics activities for import and export shipments across international markets.
Register shipment bookings with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transport vendors, and overseas agents.
Handle ocean freight operations including vessel scheduling, container bookings, shipment planning, and cargo tracking.
Monitor shipment movement from origin to destination and provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, warehouses, and Customs House Agents (CHAs) to ensure timely cargo movement and customs clearance.
Possess sound knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and ensure correct application in international trade transactions.
Have a good understanding of various shipping containers.
Coordinate with suppliers, customers, warehouses, and internal teams for timely dispatches and deliveries.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, International Business, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in international logistics, ocean freight, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
Strong knowledge of:
Incoterms
International shipping procedures
Import and export documentation
Ocean freight operations
Containerized cargo handling
Hands-on experience in booking shipments with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and international trade compliance.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and logistics tracking tools.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience handling international shipments for metals, scrap, commodities, or raw materials will be preferred.
Prior experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or international trading companies is an added advantage.
Knowledge of US market logistics operations is preferred.
Flexibility to support the Australian shift, if required, will be considered a strong advantage.
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
