• Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely.
• Process customer purchases quickly and accurately using an electronic cash register, scanner, and scale.
• Clean the register area by sweeping floors and cleaning check lanes, registers, and scales.
• Prevent loss of money and merchandise through careful product handling, price completion, correct identification of produce, money counting, and accurate use of store procedures for coupons, WIC, vouchers, checks, credit and debit cards.
• Assure the safety of yourself, customers and co‑workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately.
• Bag customer purchases quickly and correctly.
• Understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substitute for absent workers and perform any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.

• Above and Beyond Customer Service.
• Basic Mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior experience in a related field or industry.

• Standing capability, 4 hours minimum.
• Move a maximum of 40 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inches.
• Move a maximum of 40 lbs. up to 15 feet.
• Pick up items from floor/case/shelf/cart.
• Retrieve merchandise on the top of grocery shelves, approximately 84 inches from the floor.
• Bend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving/removing merchandise and loading/unloading merchandise.

Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from opening of store entrance/exit doors.
