Job Profile:

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analysing plans and specifications and performing quantity take‑offs for select trades. Be technically savvy. Being able to use On‑Screen Take Off software is a positive.
  • Develop and prepare estimates from Stage 2–Stage 4 with minimal subcontractor assistance using limited preliminary design documents/information.
  • Develop subcontractor interest in projects and manage the subcontractor RFP process.
  • Qualify and level subcontractors’ proposals according to project specifics.
  • Itemize trade‑specific scopes and prepare bid packages.
  • Prepare detailed critical‑path job schedules.
  • Continually market the company and look for future opportunities to grow the business.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Considerable career progression/compensation potential for the right candidate.
  • Interact with clients, architects, engineers, etc. to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc.
  • All project staff will be expected to manage and report on the business sustainability and project goals.
Key Account Management
  • Start the process of early engagement with consultant teams.
  • Look to actively engage with our end‑user clients and consultants prior to PQQ/Tenders landing.
  • Arrange and attend regular social events with the same. Proactively develop existing relationships whilst looking to explore new relationships within the industry.
  • Attend industry events as requested.
  • Promote our company values externally.
Operational Excellence
  • Actively participate in the Operational Excellence Programme and look to innovate.
  • Promote the programme both internally and externally.
  • Ownership, management and implementation of the technical services systems and procedures.
  • Lead quarterly technical services collaboration knowledge‑sharing forums.
Key Qualifications and Memberships
  • Relevant Commercial Construction Estimating experience including early stage budgeting.
  • A leader that assumes total responsibility for their work.
  • A team player that works well with others and can effectively direct and manage others.
  • 4‑year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or 5+ year(s) of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry practices, procedures, and market trends.
  • Dedicated, well‑organized, able to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with commercial estimating software such as Conquest, On‑Screen Take‑Off, etc.
  • Maintain professionalism when faced with aggressive deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, personable, communication, and written skills.
  • Ability to interact, develop, and maintain a positive professional relationship with all levels of people.
  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
