With multiple hyperscale data centre projects currently under construction across Europe and over 320MW of IT load in delivery, this organisation has established itself as a trusted partner within the mission-critical sector, providing full turnkey solutions across complex, high-value developments.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management and financial performance of major data centre projects, ensuring robust cost control, procurement management and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial delivery of large‑scale data centre and mission‑critical projects.
Procure subcontract packages and manage the tendering process through to award.
Administer subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts, ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
Prepare and submit monthly valuations, cost reports and commercial updates.
Identify, evaluate and manage change events, variations and compensation events.
Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Liaise with project teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors on all commercial matters.
Assist with procurement strategy and package buyout activities.
Manage risk and opportunity registers from a commercial perspective.
Support project cash flow management and financial reporting requirements.
Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction sector.
Previous experience working within a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contracting environment is essential.
Data centre, mission‑critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or large‑scale commercial project experience is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial processes and cost management.
Experience working under NEC, FIDIC or similar contract forms would be advantageous.
Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.li>
Ability to work effectively within fast‑paced project environments.
Strong commercial awareness with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
