(Be) limits in contact with children and people with an intellectual disability. What do you do and what don't you do.
bring over. Dilemmas about distance and proximity. What do you tell about your personal life, how close do you get and leave the client with a intellectual disability or a child come to you?
Where is the limit with regard to (physical) contact and how do you indicate this in a respectful manner? And what does the organization or association expect from the volunteer in this area?
In this training, attention is paid to the conditions that are necessary to achieve a safe social climate for volunteers and those seeking help.
Everyone prefers to live independently etimes that doesn't come naturally. A disability or chronic illness can make a situation untenable. STG wants to prevent that. That is why we support people with disabilities and their carers h the help of committed volunteers, children and adults can continue to live at home longer and participate in society.
With the efforts of volunteers, parents are relieved of the burden of caring for their child. We do this in several ways:
- by using a volunteer who does activities with the child
- because the child goes to a host family
- by organizing fun activities for brothers and sisters
- by bringing parents together in meetings
We focus on children and adults with a mental or physical disability, chronic illness, ADHD or autism. STG is an accessible, small volunteer organization in the regions of Central and South Kennemerland. STG brings people together!
