We’re looking for a detail-driven Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This hybrid role in Hackensack, NJ supports essential accounting functions, including reconciliations, accruals, tax registrations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, CPG accounting industry experience (a strong plus), and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include the Following:

• Prepare and submit year-end audit requests
• Perform monthly sales reconciliations and month-end close activities
• Execute daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Record month-end accruals and journal entries
• Administer and contribute to monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile and post prepaid marketing and other entries
• Manage EDI cash applications and ensure accurate processing
• Collaborate with A/P to process 3rd-party manufacturing settlements, monthly D/C note settlements, PPV, and inventory transit adjustments
• Reconcile AP/AR accounts including AP Trade and RBNI
• Process G&A allocation entries, interest accruals, and POS display transactions
• Assist with state tax registrations, payments, and related process improvements
• Cap Ex/CIP including month account reconciliations and quarterly asset launches
• Support tax provision entries and liaise with external tax partners
• Monitor D&B profile updates to maintain optimal business ratings

Opportunity to Assist with the Following:

• Inventory Reconciliation Analysis:
  Partner with Supply Chain Finance to identify gaps and resolve discrepancies
• Research transactions to find root causes of discrepancies and implement solutions
• Supply Chain Cost Monitoring:
  Review supply chain GL accounts ensuring correct cost allocation and reclassifying expenses when necessary.
• Monthly COGS and inventory accounting activities

Qualifications Include the Following:

• CPG experience required, personal care products a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus
• 5+ years accounting experience in consumer products or personal care
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required, financial systems a plus
• ERP experience required, Microsoft Dynamics a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a hybrid work environment
• Experience with EDI, supply chain, or cost accounting is a plus
