Mortgage Loan Originator – (Wholesale Non-Delegated Lender)

• Experience directly related to the Mortgage Industry
• Appropriate state license or certificate (varies by state)
• Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies
• Working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs and private investors
• Familiarity with local, state and national laws (e.g., zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills and analytical ability to review financial information
• Sales‑oriented self‑starter
• Knowledge of paperless processes, training & marketing, lead provision (in‑office), hybrid position availability

• Establish referral source relationships for a steady flow of loan volume from real estate brokers and other external sources
• Sell mortgage loans to customers and generate new business by building relationships with realtors, real estate agents, title and escrow officers, financial advisers, CPAs and other relevant professionals
• Participate regularly in mortgage sales, including attending closings, open houses, seminars and other lead‑generating activities
• Collect borrower information, fill out loan applications, and pre‑qualify prospective borrowers to determine maximum mortgage affordability
• Provide borrowers with counseling on loan products, closing costs and monthly payments, and explain how different products affect financing
• Gather financial documents (tax returns, bank statements, etc.) and provide required disclosures such as truth in lending and good faith estimates
• Advising borrowers on credit issues and maintaining regular contact throughout the application to closing process
• Order legal documents and review Closing Disclosures with clients prior to closing
