Wellness Mentor | Community Drop-In

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week, offering an hourly rate of $17.50 to $19.23, depending on certification.

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is seeking TWO Wellness Mentors. Under the supervision of the Wellness Center Manager, the Mentor acts as a leader and role model for members and visitors. The role involves collaborating on daily operations, understanding community needs, and maintaining resource knowledge to support recovery and wellness.

• Plan and conduct daily center operations in collaboration with the manager and members.
• Identify community needs and connect members with relevant resources such as substance use recovery, food banks, and financial aid agencies.

• High School Diploma/GED;
  Peer Certification preferred but not required initially (must obtain within a year).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to disclose personal experiences with mental health or substance use recovery.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental health challenges professionally and compassionately.
• Basic computer literacy; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Lived experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues is highly valued.

Position is eligible for NJESL, and candidates without Peer Certification may start at a lower rate with certification required within a year.

The role is entry-level, part-time, and within the Mental Health Care industry.
