About the Company

RemX is assisting our client, a well respected mid size law firm, with their search for a Trust and Estates Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support their practice. You don't have to have T&E experience to be considered for this position!!

About the Role

As a Trust & Estates Paralegal you will play a crucial role in supporting a team of attorneys in managing and administering trusts and estates for their valued clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate planning forms.
  • Track status of all estates so that deadlines are not missed.
  • Assist attorneys in estate planning meetings with clients and take detailed notes.
  • Maintain and organize client files and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • New Jersey inheritance tax returns.
  • Conduct legal research on trust and estate-related matters.
  • Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies as needed.
  • Assist in asset management and distribution processes.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
  • Stay current on changes in trust and estate laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Paralegal designation is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Trust & Estates Paralegal in a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.
  • Ethical, discreet, and able to handle sensitive client information.

Required Skills

Pay range and compensation package

Salary range based on experience: $70,000-$80,000, plus bonus.
