OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to lead the Preoperative and Recovery units during evening shifts. The role supports the organization in execution of the nursing strategic plan and achieves quality outcomes.
Responsibilities- Participate with recruitment and retention strategies.
- Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees.
- Participate in unit goal creation reflecting hospital goals and the mission & vision of Hackensack Meridian Health.
- Lead or participate in evidenced‑based practice projects or research.
- Lead or participate in unit‑based or hospital‑based shared governance committees or councils.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions.
- Complete employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessary.
- Adhere to HMH's organizational and managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
- Prepare and conduct periodic performance evaluations for assigned staff.
- Contribute to or monitor the unit orientation process of all roles as necessary.
- Model cultural competence, social justice, fairness, and leverage generational diversity to foster highly effective work groups.
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred.
- Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience in the specialty or equivalent.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification required.
- Strong sense of accountability, teamwork, dedication to continuing education, and passion for high‑quality patient care.
- National certification acceptable to the Magnet Recognition Program and appropriate to your specialty (within two years of hire).
- Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.

Job Duties CompensationCompensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on experience, education, certifications, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Shift differentials for evening, night or weekend shifts may apply.
