The Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) delivers patient-centered coordinated care in the pediatric diabetes and endocrinology department, both inpatient and outpatient. The APN collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement comprehensive care for children with endocrine conditions.

• Perform complete history and physical assessments appropriate for pediatric patients.
• Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Manage general medical and surgical conditions based on evidence-based knowledge.
• Prescribe medication safely in accordance with NJ regulations.
• Advise on medication reconciliation and patient education.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor other APNs and serve as a resource for the healthcare team.
• Adhere to HMH nursing protocols, standards of care, and ethical principles.

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintain clinical competency through continuing education.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) and prescriptive authority in NJ.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
• Licenses: NJ State RN, Advanced Practice Nurse license, BLS AHA Basic Life Support, board certification (AANP/ANCC). (Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
