Registered Nurse - NICU Nights

The Registered Nurse in the NICU provides direct care to a specific patient population, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care with specific goals/outcomes.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advanced bar-scanning technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and document events accurately.

Education
:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
• BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire

Experience
:

• Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in the Nurse Residency Program

Licenses & Certifications
:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible
