Responsibilities- Under general guidance of a qualified plumber, perform tasks such as:
- Maintain proper operation of sinks and toilets by changing components as needed.
- Operate drain cleaning equipment to clear stoppages.
- Make minor piping repairs and change circulating pumps.
- Learn and demonstrate understanding of domestic hot water systems.
- Maintain all plumbing tools and hand tools in good condition.
- Escalate specialized repair needs to Supervisor or Manager.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, or layout to meet plumbing code standards.
- Stand, walk, lift, carry, push and pull materials up to 80 pounds; work on ladders or underground pipe tunnels as needed.
- Work safely in environments containing dirt, dust, fumes, grease, water, steam, and various compounds.
- Work inside and outside on wet surfaces.
- Use the Maintenance Connection system for work requests and preventive maintenance.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High School diploma, GED, or other vocational degree/certificate related to plumbing.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in general construction, preferably plumbing trade.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite).
Minimum hourly rate: $21.40. Compensation may vary based on market data, experience, education, skills, location, and internal equity. Additional incentives, bonuses, or shift differentials may apply.
