NAME OF POSITION: Head Start and/or Early Head Start Classroom Substitute
Location: 226 Main Street, Hackettstown, NJ
Hours: as needed, not to exceed 8 hours a day
Pay: $17.28-$19.59
Job Overview: We are a fast‑paced and high‑demand, non‑profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at‑risk population.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist classroom staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
- Support classroom activities and lesson implementation.
- Promote positive child interactions and development.
- Assist with daily routines and caregiving tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Level: High school diploma working towards CDA to be completed within two years of hire.
- Preferred Education Level: Child Development Associate (CDA)- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Experience: Experience working with young children.
- Preferred Experience: 2 years' experience in early childhood education and direct experience with at‑risk population, Head Start experience.
- Personal characteristics: compassionate, organized, flexible, communicator, team‑player
- Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
