Job DescriptionThis Regional Project Engineering Role will be a part of the Mars Wrigley North America Controls, Automation, and Digital engineering team. The role will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure. Scope includes leading and/or supporting large capital projects in the areas of electrical, controls, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems.
It owns leadership of controls, automation, and digital projects via the Mars Wrigley Engineering Execution Standard. The position will be based out of Hackettstown, NJ.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or relevant Engineering.
- 5-10+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position – food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles – knowledge of engineering disciplines:
Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction and/or Computer Services. - In-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (e.g., controls, process, packaging).
- Up to 50% travel requirement depending on project demands.
- A Bachelor's degree in Controls/Electrical/Electronics preferred, including courses in Computer Science or an advanced degree in Engineering.
- MBA or PMP certification.
- 8+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position – food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable.
- Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Develop control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systems.
- Deliver projects that provide a competitive advantage.
- Design control systems, including control concepts and functional/equipment specifications.
- Direct modifications, installation, and integration of systems in electrical & power, controls, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology.
- Ensure delivery of objectives for scope, time, budget, and cash flow.
- Maintain project adherence to scope, deliverables, and critical success factors.
- Communicate with the project steering team to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Seek and apply appropriate technologies to sustain technical competitive advantage.
- Make decisions to improve business metrics such as ROTA, FATR, EP.
- Design systems and select hardware or direct third-party engineering or Integrator firms to provide design services.
- Participate in development of engineering standards and tools.
- Support safety, security and environmental policies.
- Maximize asset utilization through value‑added engineering and lean design.
- Manage all assigned project work directly.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between USD and USD . Total compensation will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in a 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
