Maintenance Planner – Hackettstown, NJ
What we manufacture: M&M’s – Chocolate and Peanut.
Required Shift: 1st Shift: Monday‑Friday 7 am‑3 pm (may include occasional off‑shift support).
Job Purpose: The Maintenance Reliability Planner converts maintenance needs into executable plans to keep production lines and site utilities safe, reliable, and cost‑effective. The role screens and prioritizes work, builds detailed job plans, sequences preventive and corrective activities, kits parts and services, coordinates internal technicians and contractors, and aligns execution with production priorities and Mars standards. The Planner is a key technical partner in daily performance routines, driving continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands‑on maintenance planning & scheduling experience using a CMMS software
- Multiskilled technical background (e.g., electrical, mechanical, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email
- Technical Diploma/Associate
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance frameworks
- Experience with SAP PM
- Demonstrated shutdown/turnaround planning and contractor management
- Knowledge of safety compliance (permits, LOTO, inspections, etc.)
- Experience leading projects
- Frequent walking on the production floor and standing for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and access elevated or confined areas
- Comfortable working in a range of manufacturing environments, including non‑temperature‑controlled areas
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading P&IDs, job plans, screens
- Ability to lift/pull/push up to 25–50 lbs.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Plan & schedule work: screen, scope and prioritize maintenance requests; create detailed job plans (labor hours, tools, parts, permits, contractor services); maintain weekly, bi‑weekly and shutdown dependent schedules aligned to production needs.
- Coordinate resources & execution: kit parts/materials, raise service orders within frameworks, and coordinate internal technicians and external vendors to achieve schedule adherence and quality standards.
- Reliability & CI: use BPS and BDA systems to address top losses; recommend task/frequency optimization, PdM routes, and design changes.
- Compliance & standards: ensure work packages meet Mars Health & Safety Standards and regulatory requirements (permits, LOTO, inspections); uphold documentation control and good maintenance practices.
- Stakeholder partnership: align with Operations, Quality, HSE, and Engineering to minimize downtime and protect service/TRS.
- Starting pay: based on experience, starting at $46.70 /hour +

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between $38.86 and $53.44 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
