Field Service Technician (FSR3) - JDC Power Systems, LLC
JDC Power Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician (FSR3) to support our customers' field operations. In this hands‑on role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and service electrical systems, industrial controls, and related equipment at client sites. You’ll play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of power systems and delivering high‑quality service, with a focus on resolving technical issues and supporting customers with their needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and experience in electrical systems.
- Perform on‑site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switch gear, and PLC controls.
- Conduct system diagnostics and address technical issues to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operation.
- Support system startups and commissioning, ensuring systems are operational and meet customer specifications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers during service visits, resolving technical issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Provide basic training to customers on system operation and basic maintenance.
- Document service activities, including providing test reports and feedback on system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of time tracking, service work, and inventory on site.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Utilize remote troubleshooting tools when applicable to resolve issues quickly and reduce downtime.
- Ensure all work adheres to company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and industry standards; participate in safety training sessions and maintain relevant safety certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience as a field service technician, focusing on power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Certifications such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or other relevant technical certifications are a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with field service management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
- Ability to work independently and manage service priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and protective relay systems is a plus.
- Experience with electrical systems at low and medium voltage levels.
- Familiarity with industry‑standard test equipment (e.g., multimeters, breaker test sets).
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, with overnight stays to visit customer sites and JDC locations across the country.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Location:
Various. Travel required on a daily/weekly basis to both customer sites and internal field service locations across the Region. Occasional travel may be required to Hackettstown, NJ to meet with leadership.
