SEN Teaching Assistant
Location:
Waltham Forest, London
Contract:
Full-time starting ASAP
Salary: £550 - £600 per week

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo and other professionals to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with EHCPs
Support pupils’ learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing in and out of the classroom
Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
Assist with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans
Promote positive behaviour and inclusion at all times
Support personal care needs where required, in a sensitive and respectful manner
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and external professionals
Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to staff as appropriate
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
Is patient, empathetic and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is flexible and able to adapt to the needs of individual pupils
Can build positive, trusting relationships with children and adults
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
