About the Role

A large, inclusive Tower Hamlets mainstream primary school is seeking a highly experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with significant SEN needs. The pupil presents with a combination of learning difficulties, sensory needs, and emotional regulation challenges.

This is a hands-on, demanding role requiring consistency, confidence, and strong behaviour management. The pupil spends time both in class and in a quiet breakout space and requires close adult supervision throughout the day.

The school has strong leadership and SEN systems in place but is clear this is a hard-to-fill role requiring someone confident working with complex presentations.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is specifically looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant who:

Has substantial experience supporting high-needs SEN pupils

Is confident managing dysregulation and challenging behaviour

Understands sensory strategies and de-escalation techniques

Can work calmly under pressure

Is reliable, resilient, and consistent
