Position: 1:1 SEN TEaching Assistant
Location: Hackney Central

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Hackney – £90–£110 a day (depending on experience) – Full Time – Immediate Start
 
* 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN required
 
* 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Experience working with pupils with autism, complex needs or profound learning difficulties desirable
 
* 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Must be confident with pupil engagement, communication and behaviour support
 
* 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Required full time ASAP

The Role – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Seeking a compassionate and patient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil aged 3–19 with significant special educational needs. You will provide dedicated individualised support inside and outside the classroom, working closely with the SENCO and class teachers to help the pupil access their curriculum, manage behaviour, build communication skills and develop independence. The role involves implementing personalised strategies, promoting emotional regulation and helping to maintain a structured, safe and supportive learning environment.

This specialist maintained provision is located in the London Borough of Hackney and is within walking distance of a nearby London Overground station. The school caters for pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties and associated disabilities. Ensuring each pupil receives highly tailored support, the setting focuses on personalised learning, communication and independence. This school was judged ‘Good’ at its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2025.
