SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Bethnal Green

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a welcoming 2 form entry primary school in Bethnal Green, home to a large and well-established SEND provision.

The school provides a positive, inclusive and passionate learning environment, with a strong focus on individuality. They are looking for a dedicated SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can build a trusting relationship with a pupil and help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role

As an SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day

Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil

Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement

Help remove barriers to learning

Encourage independence, confidence and self-esteem

Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team

Support the wider SEND provision when required

Celebrate the pupil's individuality, strengths and achievements

We're Looking For:

Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Someone who is resilient and confident managing challenging situations

Strong relationship-building skills

A genuine passion for helping children succeed

Someone who understands that every child is different and deserves an individual approach

Previous 1:1, SEMH or SEND experience is highly desirable.
