Maths Teacher – Whitechapel

Salary: £150–£250 per day (dependent on experience)
Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher looking for a new opportunity in East London? Supply Desk is currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and well-established secondary school in Whitechapel, seeking an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher or an experienced educator looking to make a real difference to students' learning and progress. The successful candidate will be confident delivering engaging and challenging Maths lessons, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Whether you're an experienced Maths Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop your teaching practice, this role offers excellent opportunities to build your experience within a supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons across the secondary age range.
Adapt teaching and learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
Maintain high expectations of student achievement, behaviour, and engagement.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
Use a range of teaching strategies to make Maths accessible, engaging, and challenging.
Establish positive relationships with students and promote a supportive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider Maths department and school community.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to assessment and reporting processes.
Support students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification is desirable.
A strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
Previous experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting is desirable.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
The ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
A commitment to supporting students of all abilities to achieve their potential.
