Building Services Manager

Position: Building Services Manager (Permanent)
Location: Hackney Central

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, delivering projects across the education and residential sectors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This role would suit someone with a strong background in schools and residential developments, experienced in coordinating consultants, subcontractors and ensuring technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee all M&E packages across education and residential schemes

* Manage design coordination between consultants and subcontractors

* Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions

* Ensure services installations meet programme, budget and quality standards

* Monitor commissioning, testing and handover processes

* Ensure full compliance with building regulations and statutory requirements

* Attend design team and client meetings

* Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Commercial teams

* Manage subcontractor performance and technical queries

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Building Services Manager within a main contractor environment

* Strong background delivering schools and/or residential projects

* Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

* Experience with commissioning and handover procedures

* Strong technical and coordination skills

* Good commercial awareness

* SMSTS (desirable)

* CSCS (Black or relevant card)

Desirable

* Experience working on DfE school frameworks

* Knowledge of BREEAM requirements

* Experience in both new build and refurbishment projects
