Hourly rate of pay: £13.48 - £14.33

Post 1 is based at Haddington Library, John Gray Centre

Post 2 is based at Musselburgh Library

Monday - Friday, 09:00-13:00 & 14:00-17:00

1 in 4 Saturdays, with time off in preceding week, 10:00-13:00

Flexi time is applicable.

• Support the day-to-day delivery of front-line customer and library services.
• Work flexibly across multiple locations as required.
• Provide cover for absence, leave and help staff teams deliver community outreach.
• Lead Bookbug song and rhyme sessions, sensory story times, code clubs and other groups for children and families.
• Demonstrate the ability to share a nursery rhyme or song during interview.
• Support customers in accessing services online, using strong digital and communication skills.

• Minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy or equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
• Regulated role involving vulnerable children and protected adults – must become a PVG Scheme member if not already, prior to any formal offer.
• Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to provide an overseas criminal record check if required.
• Must meet all 'essential' criteria stated in the Job Outline/Person Specification.
