Hourly rate of pay: £16.14 - £17.24
Locum care support workers are required to support our team, providing care in the community and supporting service users back to their independence.

Shift times:

• 14:00-18:00
• 14:00-22:00
• 18:00-22:00

The Home Care Service provides care in the home for adults and the elderly across the whole of East Lothian who need assistance and encouragement to carry out daily living tasks.

The Care Support Worker plays a crucial part in ensuring service users identified needs are appropriately supported in the community. The role is responsible for the delivery of direct personal care and for providing assistance with both practical and emotional support to help service users remain in their own homes in accordance with Individual Care Plans aims and targets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Respond sensitively and flexibly to a wide range of individual service user situations.
• Work both individually and as part of a team.
• Partner with a variety of Health and Social Care Professionals.
• Report directly to The Care Support Organiser.
• Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and daily living.
• Play a key role in the care planning process, setting aims and targets for individual clients.

• Relevant Qualifications
  : SVQ 2 Health and Social Care at SCQF Level 6 and/or equivalent knowledge and experience. If not held, a course of study to obtain an SVQ Level 2 qualification is required within the designated timescale.
• SSSC registration is essential. If not already a member, registration must be applied for and achieved within six months of the start date.
• Driving Licence
  : A current driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. Reasonable adjustments will be considered if a disability precludes obtaining a licence.
• PVG Membership
  :
  This is a regulated role for vulnerable children and protected adults. All candidates must be a PVG Scheme member or undergo an update prior to any formal offer.
• If more than 3 months of work or living outside the UK in the last 5 years, a copy of an overseas criminal record check is required.
