As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in one of the most popular departments in our store. You are responsible for providing a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques. Your day-to-day tasks include receiving, storing, and grinding meats; unloading and transporting fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks;

counting and weighing incoming articles and comparing results against an invoice; and examining meats in storage and rotating them to avoid aging. You will assist customers with questions and special orders while maintaining a positive, customer‑focused work environment. You must also have knowledge of weekly ad items, give customers directional guidance throughout the store, and follow our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.

This position requires adherence to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, we want to hear from you!

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures is required.
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to perform other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Possess the flexibility to work a schedule that changes with business demands, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work areas such as tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers.
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes.
• Be capable of standing continuously for up to 8 hours per shift and walking up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work comfortably inside a temperature‑controlled area and perform general housekeeping duties.
• Possess good vision for using sharp knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and tenderizers.
• Lift or carry products weighing 25 to 90 lbs. at distances up to 10 feet for up to 20 hours per week.
• Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs. at distances up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours per week.
• Move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs. at distances up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours per week.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs. at distances up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour per shift.

The pay range for this position is $15.80 – $21.35 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
