Cost Accountant

An Addison Group client is looking for a hands‑on Cost Accountant to add to their team. This is a highly visible role within the organization that partners directly with sales and operations, and has a real voice in how we price our products every week.

• Build and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines
• Analyze raw material, labor, and overhead costs so our product costing is accurate
• Recommend selling prices based on cost structures and margin targets
• Dig into cost variances and identify the drivers affecting profitability
• Serve as the go‑to costing, pricing, and margin partner for our sales team
• Join our weekly pricing strategy review
• Work side by side with production teams at our two plants to understand manufacturing processes and validate cost assumptions
• Support plant management with analysis, reporting, and recommendations
• Lead the design and rollout of new costing processes, and find ways to improve accuracy and operational performance

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or food processing
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and modeling
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving instincts
• Comfort working in a plant environment alongside operations teams
• A track record of building and improving processes
• Clear, confident communication with finance and non‑finance colleagues alike
• The organization and independence to manage your own priorities
