the student worker reports directly to the division director of health sciences and works with the program coordinator in the performance of the job duties.
main job duties:
- setting up, calibrating, maintaining, cleaning, and sterilizing lab instruments and the general workspace.
- supply management: monitoring inventory, notifying program coordinator about the need to order supplies, stocking labs, and organizing storage.
- sample & reagent prep: preparing chemical solutions, media, and labeling/handling specimens for testing.
- safety & compliance: enforcing health and safety rules, disposing of hazardous waste properly, and ensuring adherence to lab protocols.
- documentation: maintaining accurate records, logging data, and keeping paperwork updated.
- administrative tasks: filing, data entry, and assisting with other clerical duties as needed
must be a current hcc student for the spring 2026 semester. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits. Unless first-semester student, must have attained a 2.0 semester gpa during the last semester attended.
