What we are looking for
Our residency program is expanding and requires a physician to head the addiction portion of the educational experience. Historically, our Crisis Center and addiction consults have been managed by nurse practitioners, but with growing demand and the need for resident supervision, we are seeking a dedicated physician to elevate our addiction services.
Role Overview- Primary Focus:
Addiction medicine (majority of practice) - Secondary Duties:
General psychiatry (home call on weekdays; rotating weekend coverage if psychiatrist) - Setting:
Inpatient and consult-based, with responsibilities including: - Addiction consults on medical floors
- Direct care in our 6-bed Crisis Center (detoxification, stabilization, and rehabilitation resource allocation)
- Potential outpatient expansion in the future
Supervise and mentor residents in addiction medicine - Engage in teaching at both residency and medical school levels
- Participate in program development and faculty leadership (core faculty eligibility for psychiatrists; faculty role for non-psychiatrists)
- Cannabis use disorder
- Dual diagnosis presentations
- Board certified/eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN or AOBNP)
- Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine certification preferred (not required if experienced)
- Board certified in Addiction Medicine (ABPM)
