Job Title and Location
Structural Technician IV – Hagerstown, MD 21742 – 9 Months – $48/hr – Immediate – Requires Secret Clearance.
Job Description- Assemble and create major assembly structures and minor part‑fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming.
- Update job status on our operations database and translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies.
- Perform basic layout, precision drilling, countersinking and use calibrated tools, align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
- Modify incomplete and complete assemblies, incorporate changes into the structure and monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Perform various maintenance duties and ensure appropriate representation and communications occur among team members, team leads, quality control and engineering.
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
- Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
- Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
- Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.).
- Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
- Frequently exposed to loud noises.
- Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
- Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.
- Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
- Performs aviation related duties.
- Operates or supervises vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.
- US CITIZENSHIP is a REQUIREMENT.
- Must have own tools in good working order.
- Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
- Advanced experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
- Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi‑locks.
- Ability to travel.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, NASA or US Military.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- A higher‑level degree may substitute for experience; related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
