Zachery Piper Solutions is seeking an Avionics Technician to support a high‑visibility aerospace and defense program in Hagerstown, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well‑established engineering and aviation services company specializing in aircraft modifications, airborne systems testing, ISR support, and mission‑critical government programs. The Avionics Technician will play a vital role in ensuring aircraft electrical and avionics systems are expertly installed, maintained, inspected, and repaired, directly contributing to flight readiness, engineering integration, and customer mission success.
This position requires a Secret Clearance to be considered. Responsibilities of the Avionics Technician include:
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulations
Perform wire harness fabrication, routing, termination, and installation
Conduct RF system installations, power‑on checks, and aircraft power runs
Diagnose and repair electrical hardware issues across multiple aircraft platforms
Support line operations, customer training aircraft, and remote field operations as needed
Review and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
Perform FAA‑required inspections and maintain accurate, compliant maintenance records
Collaborate with engineering teams on system modifications, design improvements, and integration activities
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians
Safely operate avionics test equipment, ground support equipment, and standard shop tools
Qualifications for the Avionics Technician include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of hands‑on avionics experience
Strong understanding of FAA regulatory requirements (IPM/ATA)
Proficiency with avionics tools including wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, and electrical test equipment
Deep knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems
Active Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Valid driver’s license; ability to pass DOT/FAA drug screening
Ability to obtain a passport for occasional travel
Preferred Qualifications:
A&P Certificate
Experience supporting DoD or Army aviation programs
Aircraft experience with Bombardier/Challenger or Beechcraft 300 platforms
PMP or AMP certification (not required)

Compensation for the Avionics Technician includes:
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
