Financial Analyst

4-6 month contracting role with possible conversion to perm. Multi billion dollar firm.

Junior Financial Analyst – Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of revenue, costs, and gross margins.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Assist with budget and forecast preparation, consolidation, and reporting of revenue and gross margin.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, and financial modeling, to develop and maintain reporting tools.
• Analyze sales performance, product costs, gross margin trends, and period-over-period variances.
• Extract, reconcile, and validate financial data from ERP and reporting systems, including Oracle EPM.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support management decisions, audits, and other business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automate recurring processes, and strengthen financial controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
• Preferred experience with ERP systems, Power BI, budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration.
