Job Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Administer respiratory medications via aerosol, MDI, or other delivery systems.
• Perform and monitor oxygen therapy (ET tube, trach collar, HFNC, T-piece, bag and mask).
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, including SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and weaning protocols.
• Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation.
• Assist with and perform bronchoscopies, intubations, a-line insertions, and tracheostomy care.
• Provide care for patients with ARDS, pneumonia, aspiration, COVID-19, and other acute respiratory conditions.
• Deliver neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including bubble CPAP, nasal CPAP/BiPAP, and neonatal intubation assist.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and participate in patient transport as needed.
• Utilize EPIC charting for accurate documentation of patient assessments and treatments.
Required
Skills & Experience:
• Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner license (required)
• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT)
• Minimum of 3 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Competence in ventilator management, medication delivery systems, and airway management techniques
• Experience in community hospital or acute care setting (required)
• NICU experience highly preferred; candidates with neonatal intubation and bubble CPAP/HFNC skills also considered
