Your role as a Human Resources Manager

As the HR Manager, you will be part of the site leadership team and the owner of all HR functions from recruiting and payroll to employee relations. You will be a change champion focused on streamlining our processes and ensuring New Cold continues to be a fantastic place to work.

Key responsibilities
  • Administer and manage biweekly and monthly payroll processes.
  • Coordinate logistics for new employees during their training and onboarding periods.
  • Conduct strategic workforce planning, organizational assessments and succession planning with HR and site leadership.
  • Develop, implement and insure consistent application of federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures.
  • Is the local subject matter expert as it relates to state and local law/requirements.
  • Local implementation of company HR policies by working with outside service providers (Accounting, Benefits, etc.) to ensure compliance and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate and administer company benefits.
  • Coach and develop leadership on employee relations, talent development and performance initiatives.
  • Maintains and updates employee records, various reports, and provides employee coaching on work related matters.
  • Serves as contact with temporary labor agencies to schedule workers to meet daily production staffing requirements and to process pay records. Reviews and approves invoices and addresses temporary worker issues as required.
  • Be a part of change management initiatives, performance management processes and succession planning.
  • Recruit individuals at all levels for the site.
  • May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas and other related duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for

We are seeking motivated and forward‑thinking individuals who thrive in collaborative and fast‑moving environments. Our ideal candidate has:

Requirements
  • 7-10 years of HR experience and 5+ years of experience managing an HR team.
  • Previous experience supporting non‑union operations in an HR capacity, with a strong preference for those in warehousing or manufacturing.
  • Experiencing managing payroll processes and with ADP a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to consistently exercise solid judgement when navigating grey areas.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Strong oral, written, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced and dynamic startup environment, including comfort with ambiguity, strong problem‑solving skills, and sense of urgency.
Education/Certification
  • B.S. or B.A. degree required; degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
