Location: Hagerstown, MD

Schedule: 1 Year, Temp to Hire

Job Summary: As an Avionics Technician IV, you will leverage your expertise to perform avionics maintenance in compliance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations. This role involves moderately complex installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components, as well as maintenance of test equipment, tools, and manuals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform avionics maintenance and repairs according to regulatory and company standards.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics systems and components.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and manuals.
  • Interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and publications.
  • Route wires per technical drawings and perform advanced wiring installation and repair.
  • Ensure compliance with safety-sensitive requirements, including handling hazardous materials and operating heavy equipment.
Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions; strong dexterity required.
  • Hearing abilities: discern tones and volumes.
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor elements (temperature extremes, sun, rain, snow).
  • Exposure to fumes, hazardous chemicals, and loud noises.
Safety-Sensitive Position
  • Responsible for safety/security of people and property.
  • Inspects, handles, or transports hazardous materials.
  • Performs aviation-related duties and operates heavy equipment.
Required Skills
  • Own tools in good working order.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and route wires per drawings.
  • Advanced skills in avionics installation tooling, wiring, soldering, and crimping techniques.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL.
  • Ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and Pitot static equipment.
  • Background in Aerospace/Defense or US Military.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED and typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
