RN Clinical Manager - Women and Pediatric Unit
We’re seeking a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Manager to lead our Women’s and Pediatric Unit. This role carries 24-hour accountability for the department’s clinical and operational excellence. The Clinical Manager provides leadership in planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling all functions and activities within the assigned areas. This position is a key contributor to the nursing strategic plan and plays a vital role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of patient- and family-centered care.
The Clinical Manager fosters a caring and healing environment for patients, families, and staff while ensuring compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Provide 24-hour administrative and financial accountability for the Women’s and Pediatric Unit.
- Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Participate in strategic planning, goal setting, and process improvement initiatives for nursing services.
- Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff, promoting professional growth and excellence in patient care.
- Evaluate care outcomes and implement improvements to meet or exceed quality, safety, and regulatory goals.
- Uphold the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, addressing any breaches in clinical or ethical standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align department performance with organizational mission and values.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented environment focused on patient and family satisfaction.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a related setting, with demonstrated leadership or charge experience preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland required;
Professional certification in Nursing Leadership or clinical specialty preferred. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to lead with compassion, empathy, and professionalism; strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills; advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office); commitment to continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
