American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least one year of ED travel experience and MD or compact RN licensure.
Details- 54-bed Level II Trauma Center ER averaging 220 patients per day in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric populations
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- No set weekend rotation, but may be scheduled up to six weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
- Night shift staff may be assigned up to 3 Sundays per scheduling period
- Floating required in rotation with facility staff according to floating policies and clinical experience
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS (pending acceptable for NIHSS)
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management preferred
- Experience with CVA care, triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and ortho trauma preferred
- Experience with central line care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
- 2-step PPD and flu vaccine required with no exemptions
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Provide emergency nursing care including trauma response, cardiac monitoring, and management of high-acuity patients
- Treat shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds
- Expect to work some holidays and weekends
- RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible as a traveler, with limited exceptions for other specialties at a lower bill rate
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate
- Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after completing 1 year before returning to the facility as a traveler
- Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Annual and orientation training modules (4-8 hours) completed via Relias/Net Learning portal
